June 13th 2025: Second CoP Meeting on Carbon Dioxide Capture for Biofuel Production – Citizen and Stakeholder Engagement – National Technical University of Athens
The capture of carbon dioxide before it is released into the atmosphere and its subsequent utilization is a key goal in tackling climate change. The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), specifically the Unit of Environmental Science and Technology of the School of Chemical Engineering, is organizing a meeting on this topic as part of the European program “Carbon Dioxide Capture and Reuse for Biofuel Production – CRONUS” under Horizon Europe.
Following the successful first meeting on April 4, 2024, during which the Community of Practice (CoP) was established with the aim of ensuring the project’s optimal implementation for the benefit of society and enhancing its acceptance—as well as discussing the barriers and challenges related to the development of NTUA’s pilot unit (Functional Prototype 1) – we invite you to the second meeting of the Community of Practice.
In this meeting, NTUA will present the pilot system being developed as an innovative technological solution for capturing CO₂ produced in a bio-refinery for biofuel production. Furthermore, the project’s progress, technical issues, and market-related topics will be discussed, with an emphasis on the commercial exploitation of the system and its social acceptance in the near future.
The meeting will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 10:00 to 14:00, at the library of the National Technical University of Athens.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for further information.
We have attached videos that explain the project and NTUA’s technological solution for capturing and utilizing biogenic CO₂.
