We are proud to announce that our project manager, Konstantinos Passadis, researcher at the National Technical University of Athens, has been selected as one of the finalists of the Inspiration Challenge 2025, taking place during the EBA Conference in Brussels on October 15th.

About Konstantinos Passadis
Konstantinos is a Chemical Engineer specializing in biorefineries and the valorisation of biowaste into advanced biofuels. His work focuses on the Circular Economy, Bioeconomy, Biofuels, and Bioenergy, while he actively contributes to European projects driving bio-based and circular solutions.

About the EBA Inspiration Challenge
The Inspiration Challenge is part of the European Biomethane Week (13–17 October 2025). It highlights companies and projects at an early commercialization stage (TRL 6) that are advancing sustainability across the biogas value chain.

Finalists will pitch their innovative solutions in front of a live audience at the EBA Conference, and attendees will have the chance to vote for the winning idea.

Meet the Finalists

  • The CEGH GreenGas Platform – Heinz Reiter will present a Europe-wide marketplace for trading green gases.
  • e-SMR: Electrified Steam Methane Reformer – Stefano Mezzavilla introduces a reactor concept for hydrogen and biogenic CO₂ production via efficient electrification.
  • Microalgae Biomass as Alternative Protein Source (SEMPRE-BIO Project) – Josué González Camejo demonstrates how microalgae cultivation can recover nutrients and mitigate CO₂.
  • CIRCforBIO – Presented by Konstantinos Passadis – A demonstration-scale biorefinery valorising biowaste into advanced biofuels and biogas, aligned with circular economy principles.
  • Green Hydrogen from Biogas (BtX energy) – Andy Gradel showcases decentralised methanol and hydrogen production at biogas plants.

The Inspiration Challenge 2025 will spotlight groundbreaking solutions that could transform the future of the biogas industry.

We wish Konstantinos the best of luck in Brussels and look forward to seeing CIRCforBIO inspire the audience.
